The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has deployed 16 new luxury buses to operate the Southern Expressway. According to the Minister of Passenger Transport Management Mahinda Amaraweera, the buses will operate from Hambantota, Ambalantota, Tissamaharama, Embilipitiya, Kataragama and Tangalle to Colombo via the Southern Expressway.
Some passengers have found it difficult to get the service due to the high fares of luxury buses operating on the expressway. Accordingly, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) to start another bus service on the Southern Expressway.
